My Mother called me, while I was living and working in Boulder, CO, and told me I needed to design her new studio addition for her home she called Heronswood. I said OK. She wanted as much natural light in her studio as possible without washing out the color in her work. For that I designed clearstory windows high on the North side to bring in the clean, northern light for her drawing table. The sunrise thru the high, sunburst window above the picture window looking out over a small field that ended at the woods around Butler Creek was one of her favorite views.
